Affiliate branding

We've made a little change which means that the WhisperRoar "lion's head" logo in the application can be swapped out for the logo of another organization relatively easily. When users click on the logo they'll be taken to the appropriate organization's web page.

We hope that this will strengthen the relationship between people and the organizations that they are a part of. And we have some further enhancements that we'll make as time goes by.

World Prayer Ctr mailing today

Today the UK-based World Prayer Center has begun another regular mailing to their users. This edition features their promotion of WhisperRoar to help to meet their needs for social networking. This is what they've written:

SOCIAL NETWORKING
We have been working using better social networking connections over the last few months. Many of you have become friends on World Prayer Centre’s FaceBook page, and you may have started to use Twitter. We are now very proud and excited to be amongst the first to launch WhisperRoar. Many more will join us later in January and during the next few months.

Purpose-built for the global movement for prayer you can join with your existing friends and make new ones, like you would with Facebook, but with privacy and trust and no advertising! More than this, you can tag what you write to form new groups that gather around topics such as human trafficking or poverty or evangelism. WhisperRoar supports groups that pray in a regular time slot, or around the clock in 24-7 prayer. And as the number of users grows around the world geographic mapping will help the Body of Christ to connect globally and become one.

Download WhisperRoar from www.WorldPrayer.org.uk/Download Become friends with others from World Prayer Centre and invite your friends to join you. There are some demo movies at www.YouTube.com/WhisperRoar to help you get going. More

We're absolutely delighted to be able to welcome these new users to WhisperRoar and look forward to developing a long and fruitful relationship.

Better together

World Prayer Centre uses Mike Spence of www.antlab.co.uk to handle their web presence and we've been pleased with the helpfulness and responsiveness that he's given us as we work together. Thanks, Mike!

World Prayer Centre is preparing a mailing to their base for early January so we wanted to get everything ready for the mailing before Christmas and New Year holidays got under way.

See the result at www.WorldPrayer.org.UK/Download -Please use the tools on the page to share it if you like it!

The Badger is brilliant!

UK-based World Prayer Centre becomes the first of our partner organizations to offer the download of WhisperRoar straight from their own web site.

Today we've launched a test of what their download page might look like, you can see it here.

We're using the absolutely brilliant Badger tool from Grant Skinner and it makes the download process an absolute dream: if the user does not have Adobe AIR already installed, that gets loaded first; if they don't yet have WhisperRoar, that gets loaded next; but if the user already has what's needed, the button - all on its own - changes from 'Install' to 'Launch now!'

Combined with nice animation, it just makes life easy, both for us as developers, and for our users.

WhisperRoar v1.5.9 is released - new registration wizard

This new version includes:
  1. New Sign Up Wizard The user will no longer have to go to a link to a web page. The new Sign Up Wizard is entirely within WhisperRoar and will allow the user to provide registration information, have the option to upload an avatar and provide some initial personal information (or skip this process), and then conclude with a thank you screen that will also highlight some of the features of WhisperRoar. In addition, when the user clicks the Finish button on this process, he or she will be automatically logged into WhisperRoar to begin exploring immediately.

We have made this change to support users who download WhisperRoar from the web site of another organization, instead of www.WhisperRoar.com

  2. For prayer time, the date is now in "day month year" format to be more standard for all countries. In the future, all dates in the system will be standardized to this.

Spelling the month out in letters should make it less confusing for people around the world to work out what date an item refers to.

  3. Fixed the situation where the message stating that an Email has been sent appears twice for a given email.
